All the employees at the DNA Lab were very busy. Two murder cases had happened this night and they were working fast to provide results to solve them.

Except Greg Sanders, who did only the most necessary. He didnīt care, Hodges had called in sick, or that the others were rushing around. It seemed, his ambition had vanished at all.

The reason for Gregīs change - Gil Grissom - was wound up in his own problems. Realizing Gregīs obvious crush on him had been a total shock. It had awakened his own hidden desires, which had been buried for such a long time. Finally, he had admit to himself, he was hot for a man, who he considered as totally unsuitable as a...One night stand? Lover? Boyfriend? Gil sighed. It was just impossible. He had to be reasonable. But his body told him a different story. Night for night. So he did, what he could do best. He ignored his own wishes and avoided to run into Greg, as far as that was possible. Therefore he didnīt have a clue, that for some time now, the young lab tech was in a terrible mood and had lost all his eagerness and enthusiasm.

Catherine finally had enough of Gregīs behavior, which was affecting the team. Also, she was worried about him. She decided to talk frankly to the supervisor, not giving a damn about, how he would respond. She went into Grissomīs office and closed the door behind her.

Grissom looked puzzled: "What is it? Does something happen?"

"Oh yeah. You can say so. I have to talk to you about something, everybody in the lab knows about but you."

"What is it?"

"Itīs Gregīs behavior."

"Come again, please."

"He has changed a lot lately. Isn't fun anymore, doesnīt take the extra time to finish DNA results or whatever. To us, it seems he hates his work. Everybody is under a lot of stress, but he doesnīt care."

"And what you want from me? Should I talk to him? Fire him? You know, he still suffers from a post-trauma. I guess, strange behavior is just normal after a lab explodes right into your face."

"No Gil. Itīs more. Go, talk to him and show him your concern about him, his work, his efforts and his abilities." Catherine sounded very determined.

Grissom was aghast. "What are you insinuating? That his behavior results in a lack of concern I show for him? You know how ridiculous that sounds?"

"Come on, admit it, you know exactly how desperately this boy is longing for your approval. Since the day, he started to work here. But for some time now, you avoid him. He is suffering, because you have taken your attention away. I can only guess why, and itīs none of my business, but please, fix it. We would be very glad, the whole team. But mostly, itīs for Gregīs sake. He deserves to be happy after all heīs been through. And after all, I would be particularly thankful. You know why."

Silence.

Grissom felt stunned and dismayed. Finally, he uttered: "Alright, Iīll talk to him. Send Greg to me, right now."

Catherine nodded pleased and left Grissom alone.

The supervisor was pretty perplexed. Nothing like that had ever happened to him. What the hell should he do now? He didnīt quite believe, Greg was really acting this way because of him, even Catherine had affirmed it. He wasnīt sure, but he wanted to find out.

It took Greg five minutes to come to his office. That was new. And Greg looked very defiant, another rareness.

Grissom came immediately to the point. "I was told, your workmates are unhappy with your attitude."

"Oh really? I take care of my duties every day and then I go home. I was given the impression, thatīs the way it works. Nobody appreciates overtime and ambition anyway."

Grissom winced slightly. At once, he was sure īNobodyī was aimed at him. He realized, Catherine had been absolutely right. It was his fault. He had to fix it. "Well, tell me what really bothers you?"

"Nothing!" It was obvious, Greg was lying. He didnīt even dare to look at him.

"Come on, it must be something. You can tell me."

But Greg was totally reserved. "I donīt wanna talk about it. Itīs none of your business."

Grissom gave up. "Well, as you wish. Go back to work, but change your attitude. Thatīs an order!"

Gregīs eyes flashed and their color almost turned black. When he stormed out, he shut the door with a bang.

Greg was furious, Grissom realized surprised. For a while, he was only brooding about Greg and his own confusing feelings.

Suddenly, Catherine burst in. "Thank you very much for talking to Greg. He is leaving the lab right now."

With a sheepish look on his face, Gil stared at Catherine. "Leaving?" he asked with a thin voice.

"Leaving!" She yelled at him.

Grissom stumbled on his feet. "Calm down! I will take care of it, and this time, I am serious."

Catherine didnīt look convinced.

"I promise!" Grissom shouted.

In a rush, Grissom went to the locker room. There he found Greg, already changed and ready to go home. "So, now we will talk it through. You will tell me instantly, whatīs the matter with you?"

Greg shrugged his shoulders. "Oh, like you care. Well, itīs nothing in particular. I just donīt feel ambitious anymore."

"Is it because of me?" Grissom asked directly.

Greg let out a bitter laugh. "What a stupid question. You know, at the hospital and when I had trouble with my hands shaking, I really believed, we would become friends. But you made it very clear, we are no friends. You are my boss. Thatīs it."

He was obviously very unhappy and Grissom realized again, he didnīt like it. He took Gregīs arm and led him to a back corner of the locker room.

Greg didnīt resist.

"So, your behavior is really because of me, isnīt it? Why?"

Confused, Greg whispered: "Why do you care so suddenly?"

Grissom came closer, Greg was irritated even more. Suddenly, he noticed the strange situation. He was alone with his boss, who was only a few inches away.

"I see, you are not willing to stop your insubordinate behavior. You want to put me on edge, donīt you?"

Greg disagreed defiant. "No, Iīm not." But then, he fell silent, almost swallowing his tongue.

Grissom was closer than ever, his blue eyes were sparkling with fire. "I think, you need to be punished." Grissom flashed him a grin.

Greg froze.

Grissom grabbed Gregīs neck, pulling him yet closer and shut Gregīs gaping mouth with his lips.

At once, Gregīs anger was gone.

The lips of his boss were very gentle. Licking and teasing. His tongue was lingering on the outside, waiting for an invitation.

Impatiently, Greg pressed himself tighter to Grissomīs firm body. Encouraged, Grissomīs kiss became more demanding and Greg opened his mouth to let him in. Finally, Grissomīs tongue was exploring his inner flesh. Impassioned, Greg kissed him back, his head was spinning.

What's happening? Iīm kissing my boss. Have I lost my mind? This is crazy. I have to stop! Just push him away and say something like īLet go of me!ī or īAre you nuts?ī.

He did not. The kiss felt so good. It was soft, intense and sweet. Greg melted away. He lost all control and wrapped his arms around Grissomīs body. Snuggling fully against him, he stopped thinking.

Promptly, Grissom let go of him. "Enough," he mumbled in a low voice.

Greg sighed disappointed and loosened the embrace. He was panting heavily.

Grissom stroked caressing through Gregīs hair, and eyed him with pleasure. "For the moment."

With trembling lips, Greg was unable to speak.

"Go back to work now, and behave yourself." Grissom softened the strict order by adding fondly: "Otherwise, I have to punish you much more. Understood?"

Greg whispered shyly: "Yes, sir."

Smiling about Gregīs formality, Grissom kissed him quickly and took his hand out of Gregīs hair.

Greg turned around and hurried out, not looking back.

Grissom stayed on for a few seconds, licking his lips. They tasted very sweet. This boyīs flavor was delicious.

Greg rushed to his workplace and stumbled in his chair, where he was just sitting for some time, not able to do anything.

What had happened was unbelievable. Grissom had kissed him. His boss. His supervisor. Him. Greg Sanders. Jesus! Why? As punishment, Grissom had told him. Greg didnīt feel punished at all, rather excited and aroused. It was like in one of his dreams. Only better.

His thoughts were interrupted by Nick, who asked mockingly: "Oh, back again. And so soon. What a surprise. Did Grissom finally tell you, you are the best lab tech, he ever had?"

Furious, Greg shouted: "What are you talking about?!"

Nick smiled. "You look so flushed. I have the feeling something important happened to you. Am I wrong?"

"Yes! You are very wrong! Nothing happened, nothing at all."

Precisely this moment, Grissom stopped by and said casually: "Please test these samples, Greg. I will be back in one hour to get the results."

Nick noticed, Grissom was smiling very friendly.

In contrast, Greg couldnīt look at him and only answered: "Yes."

Stunned, Nick looked from one to the other and after Grissom had left, he remarked: "Nothing? You're kidding, right? After weeks of not noticing you at all, he just gave you back his attention? Suddenly, you are his favorite lab boy again? May I ask, why you came back anyway? You told everybody in the lab, you were leaving."

Greg snapped: "Nonsense! You were imagining too much. Now, leave me alone, I have work to do. Go!"

Nick seemed a little hurt, but he did, what Greg had demanded and walked away.

Greg was totally jazzed. What is Grissomīs intention? Just having fun with me? NO! Never. Not him. But, when he wasnīt teasing, then maybe, the kiss meant something. Maybe, Michael was right and Grissom is interested in me. What will happen next? Hopefully more? Gregīs imagination went further than ever.
